<div><p>Michael Jarboe is an artist, graphic designer, type designer, and founder of Aesthetic Type. His lifelong involvement with critical subcultures has shaped a practice grounded in authenticity, cultural fluency, and a principled disregard for convention.</p>
<p>A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), his formal training in painting established the visual foundation for his self-directed work in graphic design, art direction, and type design. His approach to type is rooted in painting and extends into the structural, cultural, and conceptual logic of form.</p>
<p>His personal work examines language, symbolism, and cultural meaning through typographic and image-based systems. Clients and collaborators include Pentagram, Wieden+Kennedy, Nike, FX Networks, Condé Nast, Vans, Burton Snowboards, Transworld Snowboarding, Staple NYC, Alphanumeric, Emerica, DC Shoes, Quiksilver, and others.</p>
